The mission of Heart of Georgia Community Action Council, Inc. is to uplift individuals and families in the Heart of Georgia by offering a wide range of tool and essential services that meet basic needs and foster sustainable self-reliance with community partners.

🌟 Community Partnership in Action — Twiggs County Mobile Food Distribution 🌟
MGCAA Senior Services was proud to collaborate with the Middle Georgia Community Food Bank for a mobile food distribution held on August 19, 2026, at the Twiggs Senior Center.
This event was made possible through partnership, teamwork, and the generous support of volunteers who gave their time to serve the Twiggs County community. We are so grateful for everyone who came out to help make the distribution a success. 💙

Sometimes the best learning starts with a little imagination! Our Montgomery Head Start children enjoyed a fun Motherhood Activity creating popsicle stick puppets with their moms and mother figures.
As they designed their puppets, children practiced creativity, fine-motor skills, communication, and self-expression—all while spending meaningful time with family.

🎭 Safety lessons are even better when they come to life!
Bleckley Head Start is grateful for the Pilot Club, a group of retired educators who return each year to teach our children important safety skills through a fun puppet show. From water safety and bike safety with helmets to fire safety, their visits help make these lessons memorable and easy for young children to understand.
They even stopped by the day before school started to let us know they were ready for another great year—bringing notepads and pens for staff and, as always, a special treat of nuggets for the team. 💙
We appreciate community partners who continue to show up for our children and staff year after year.
